The battle began early in the morning at around 2:00 and lasted until 19:00. The Danish took 1072 unwounded and 411 wounded prisoners. cite web

The Isted Lion commemorates the battle, which was at its time the largest in Scandinavian history. The battle's anniversary, July 25th, is a military flag day in Denmark.cite web
