"Guilty" is a album by Eric Burdon and Jimmy Witherspoon recorded in 1971 shortly after Burdon left his group War.

History

While the US Tour of the line-up "Eric Burdon & War", Jimi Hendrix died and Burdon broke often down on stage. Then he left the band and recorded the album. The Song "Have Mercy Judge" is a cover of Chuck Berry. "Steamroller" and "The Time Has Come" were only sung by Witherspoon. "Home Dream" was only sung by Burdon and was recorded with War the time before they broke up because it wasn't released on an album. "Soledad" was the single.

With backing band "Tovarish" they started a tour. "Goin' Down Slow" was recorded live at the prison "Soledad".

The album was remastered and reissued on CD as "Black & White Blues" in 1995 by MCA and 2003 by BMG.
