Yuan Yao (Yüan Yao, traditional: 袁耀, simplified: 袁耀); was a Chinese landscape painter during the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912). His specific years of birth and death are not known.

Yuan was born in Yangzhou in the Jiangsu provincecite web|url=http://www.china-on-site.com/pages/painter/1139.php|title=Yuan Yao Brief Biography|accessdate=2008-07-17] . His style name was 'ZhaoDao'. Yuan primarily painted landscapes.
