Pelobatoidea

Pelobatoidea

The European Spadefoot Toad, scientifically Pelobatoidea and formerly Pelobatidae are a fairly heimlich super familiar Frog - Anura, which represents a rather weird figure, but a froschähnliche's, pointed visual field is not like that. Pathogenesis is, inter alias, between the sunken one and "higher Frogs", Toads (family), frogs, true frogs (Family), on the other insecure and are therefore - among other things by characteristics of bone construction - in the suborder Mesobatrachia.

There are approximately 137 Pelobatoidea worldwide with 15 species in Genus and four Familiar. The distribution covers Europe, North Africa and West Asia (Family Pelobatidae), Southeast Asia (family Megophryidae) and North America (family Scaphiopodidae).

It is, inter alia, in daylight vertically slotted pupil. The tongue is thick, circular and almost entirely with the floor of the mouth verwachsen. When pairing the females, males in the lumbar region, so just before the hind legs umklammert ( inguinal Amplexus).
