Brigadier General Robert V. Tauxe, MD, MPH, is the Deputy Director for Science of the Foodborne, Bacterial, and Mycotic Disease Division [ [http://www.cdc.gov/nczved/dfbmd/about.html About | CDC DFBMD ] ] of theCenters for Disease Control and Prevention . He is a 25-year veteran of thePublic Health Service and has been involved in many epidemiologic and scientific projects, including the1984 Rajneeshee bioterror attack , the South Americancholera pandemic of the early 1990s, and publicizing the connection betweenhelicobacter Pylori and peptic ulcers.
