Starbreaker is a power metal band featuring former TNT vocalist Tony Harnell, joined by guitar virtuoso Magnus Karlsson (Jorn Lande), bassist Jonni Lightfoot and drummer John Macaluso (TNT, ARK, Yngwie Malmsteen) and is signed to the Frontiers label. To date, the band has released two full-length studio albums, when the second one, "Love's Dying Wish" was released on August 1, 2008.

Band history

Starbreaker started as Tony Harnell's side project while still in TNT, after recording the TNT album "All the Way to the Sun" in 2005. Intially Harnell was working on a more power/progressive metal music for his solo record, which ended being him assembling a band with virtuoso guitarist Magnus Karlsson, his former TNT band member, drummer John Macaluso and bassist Fabrizio Grossi, which resulted in Starbreaker, rather than just Harnell's solo band.

The band recorded its first self-titled studio album in 2005, and it was released on July 13, 2005, on the Frontiers label, to mainly great reviews.

After the release of the album, Harnell got back to his day job as lead vocalist of TNT, but left the band in April 2006, to take a little time off the business and spend some more time with his family, while still writing songs. In late 2007, with Starbreaker as his main musical project, he flew to Sweden to write the bulk of the songs for the new album with Magnus Karlsson, and started the recording of the new songs at the end of the year. The highly anticipated CD is entitled "Love's Dying Wish" and it was released on August 1, 2008, to once again, good reviews. The album features new bassist Jonni Lightfoot who replaced Fabrizio Grossi, and was all written and produced by Tony Harnell and Magnus Karlsson, with respected producer Tommy Hansen (TNT, Pretty Maids, Helloween) as the mixer.

The band is expected to tour to promote the new album, while Harnell is also working on his first solo album, from which he released the EP, "Cinematic", featuring 6 songs that are about to appear on the full-length album.
