ntupdate =Mikkhail "Mikey" Brett Gray (born
November 20 ,1986 inGrimsby ,England )is a former English footballer of Polish origin. Mainly used as a left sided Forward, but was sometimes used as a make shift Defender.Described by Worksop Town supporters as a muscular versatile power house, and a surprisingly speedy forward for his frame, who was said to be able to out sprint defenders. He was also known for his temperament.
Gray came through the youth ranks with Sheffield United but transfered to his local club, Gainsborough Trinity FC in 2002, where he briefly played for the clubs youth squad before leaving aged 15. He returned to the club in the 2005-2006 season, joining on a monthly rolling contract, and making his debut in
November 2005. He played in only 1 match for Trinity, before being made available for loan.In
December he moved on a one month loan spell too local rivals Worksop Town where he made 7 appearances, scoring 6 times. This in turn made him a crowd pleaser, and pushed Worksop into trying to sign Gray on a permanent basis. He transfered out in January to Worksop Town permanently following his release from Gainsborough, for misconduct. Gray went on to pull some classy performances out the bag and this caught the eye of several larger clubs, who sent scouts out to watch him. He was reported to be a transfer target for Scarborough but any interest was soon lost down to the players poor disciplinary record, and lack of enthusiasm.
In June 2006 Gray was released by Worksop Town, after failing to turn up to training and harboring the interest to play elsewhere. He briefly trained with fellow Conference North outfit Bradford Park Avenue FC but left after a week. His next port of call was to join Polish club
Dolcan Ząbki , but he lasted only one game and left the club. After losing interest in playing the sport, Gray retired from playing at a competitive level in September 2006.
