Born in
Shanghai in1959 , Feng Xiao-Min has had a passion forart , and particularly forcalligraphy andpainting , from a very early age.After studying fine art at the University of Arts in
China , he settled inFrance in1988 , and attented theEcole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts inParis . His work has been exhibited at many galleries inFrance and abroad.After meeting the film-maker Patrick Bernard, he was invited to work as an artist on the film "Chine Insolite", which was successfully shown as part of the "Connaissance du Monde" series.
Since
1997 , at the request of Professor A. Pincas, he has taught painting techniques at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.A number of French publishers have produced art books showcasing Feng Xiao-Min's paintings and calligraphies, and some of his works have been chosen to feature in textbooks used within France's state education system.
Feng Xiao-min's work stands at the crossroads between the Western world and the East. It gives forth an unmistakeable breath of freedom, and fuses serenity, contemplation and beauty with the yearning of the human heart.
