Brandon Poltornieri (born January 18, 1986) is a Costa Rican footballer who currently plays for Leixões S.C..

Club career

Poltronieri began his career in the Liga Deportiva Alajuelense youth system. He then joined the youth ranks of Brujas FC in 2004 and quickly moved up to the First Division side after helping them to the Youth National Title. He plays as a holding midfielder as well as a left sided midfielder. Poltronieri made his debut in the Primera División de Costa Rica on March 15, 2006 as a second half substitute in a 0-0 draw against AD Carmelita. He had his most productive season during the 2006/07 season appearing in 19 first division matches. The 2007/08 season saw Poltronieri split time with the big club and the reserve side Alto Rendimiento de Brujas FC where Brandon was the anchor of the midfield.

Poltronieri was on trial with Red Bull New York during July, 2008 and word out of Costa Rica was that he had been loaned to the MLS club for one year. That never materialized and Poltronieri was loaned for the 2008 season to recently promoted Portuguese side Leixões S.C..

National team

Poltronieri has represented Costa Rica at the Under-23 level. He was a member of the pre-Olympic squad. He was also called up to the full National side in 2007 but did not make an appearance.
