Frank Yamma

Frank Yamma is a singer and song writer from Central Australia. He is a Pitjantjatjara man who speaks 5 languages and sings in both Pitjantjatjara and English [ [http://www.wantokmusik.org/artists_Frank_Yamma.htm Wantok Music] ] . Yamma's style of music is Indigenous Roots (World Music) [ [http://www.dfat.gov.au/indigenous/mba/tracks.html Listen Up - Music of Black Australia] ] and he and writes about his country and his people. He has performed in bands Ulpanyali Band, Digital Dreaming, Terrasphere and his father's Pitjantjatjara Country Band. His current band is Piranpa ('skinny white lizards' in Pitjantjatjara).

Frank Yamma & Piranpa won a Deadly in 1999 for their album Playing with Fire.
