Bigfoot Entertainment is an international film production company based out of Cebu, Philippines and Hong Kong producing television, feature films, and educational content.

History

In 2002, German entrepeneur Michael J.G. Gleissner founded Bigfoot Entertainment to produce and finance films for the international market. Bigfoot Studios, located on the island of Mactan in the Philippines, was constructed in 2004 to serve as a production facility for Bigfoot Entertainment and Fashion TV Singapore and Philippines. Bigfoot simultaneously produces dual-language films in order to release features in both Mandarin and English such as the recently completed Irreversi and Chinese counterpart Hui Lu.

"Edutainment"

Through its educational division Cleverlearn, Bigfoot Entertainment provides web-based English language instruction and test preparation. In 2006 after securing licensing agreements with television's The Apprentice and Baywatch, Cleverlearn launched Movielearn, utilizing enhanced DVDs of the series to teach conversational and colloquial English not found in the classroom.

Community Outreach

The Bigfoot Foundation strives to enhance the quality of IT education for underprivileged youth through technological grants and teacher training. So far 33 schools have received funding and training from the foundation and 22 Bigfoot Learning Centers have been established at public high schools in the Visayas, Philippines with plans for further expansion. In 2004 the foundation was named the Mayor's Special Awardee at the 67th Cebu City Charter Day Celebration in recognition of its continuing work with the city's schools.
