auto racing team based out ofDanbury, Connecticut and founded by driverDuncan Dayton in 1989. Initially founded for Dayton's involvement inhistoric motorsport , specifically the restoration and preparation of classic automobiles, the team was expanded for Dayton's entry into theUSAC Formula Ford 2000 series in 1994. The team entered a partnership with Intersport Racing in 2003 and entered theAmerican Le Mans Series (ALMS).In 2006 Highcroft purchased an
MG-Lola EX257 fromDyson Racing and started their own ALMS team. After a limited campaign, including a third place finish at thePetit Le Mans , the team was chosen byHonda Performance Development (HPD) to run one of threeAcura ARX-01 s forAcura 's debut in the ALMS in 2007. In 2008, Highcroft earned title sponsorship from Patrón Tequila, and earned Acura's first overall race victory in the ALMS. AustralianDavid Brabham and AmericanScott Sharp are the current drivers for Highcroft Racing, with occasional appearances by Swedish driverStefan Johansson , who drove for the team full-time in 2007.External links
