David Robinson (Ohio politician)

David Robinson (born November 21, 1961) is an American business executive, based in Columbus, Ohio, who has won the 2008 Democratic nomination to represent Ohio's 12th district in the United States House of Representatives.

Within a year of his birth in Huntington, New York, Robinson's family moved to Columbus, where he attended Upper Arlington High School, class of 1980. Four years later, he graduated "cum laude" from Ohio State University and, in 1991, received his M.A. in Theology from the Chicago Theological Seminary. The following year he began doctoral studies at Atlanta's Emory University, where, in 2002, he was granted a Ph.D. from the Graduate Division of Religion, Theology and Psychology. His dissertation, "Conscience and Jung's Moral Vision", was published by Paulist Press in 2005.

In January 2007, Robinson, as a member of The Climate Project, began making speeches and presentations about dangers faced by the environment. He entered the March 2008 Democratic primary to represent his home district, winning with 51% of the vote. On November 4, he will face four-term Republican incumbent Pat Tiberi.
