Pella Square

Pella Square (Macedonian: Плоштад Пела, "Ploštad Pela") is one of the main squares of Skopje, the capital city of the Republic of Macedonia. It is located in the central part of the city, not far away from the Macedonia Square. The square is named after Pella, the second capital of the ancient kingdom of Macedon. It commonly serves as the site of music concerts and political speeches. The most recent political event that took place on the square was the welcome-rally for former Macedonian interior minister Ljube Boškoski after The Hague Tribunal acquitted him of war crimes stemming from the country's 2001 conflict.
