- Ilija Djukic
Ilija Djukic ("Đukić" in Serbian; Jan 4, 1930;
Novi Rujac -- October 22, 2002;Belgrade ) was a Yugoslavian diplomat who reached the post of Foreign Minister for theFederal Republic of Yugoslavia towards the end of his career.Djukic attended the
Institute for Political Sciences inBeijing , graduating in 1959. The Yugoslavian foreign service proceeded to give him a succession of posts in theFar East , until he was moved toEastern Europe andMoscow in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1990, he again returned to Beijing, now as an ambassador. From 1992 to 1993, he was made foreign minister. [cite news |author=Michael R.
