Ameristar Jet Charter, Inc. is an American charter cargo airline based in Dallas, Texas, USA. It operates on demand cargo air-taxi services, as well as acting as a broker to cargo carriers operating large aircraft. History

The airline started operations in 1988 and is wholly owned by Tom Wachendorfer Jr. (airline President).

Incidents and accidents

* August 24, 2001: A Bombardier Learjet 25 flying Ithaca-Jackson crashed about a 1/2 mile after takeoff from Runway 32 in Ithaca. Both pilots on board were killed. The cause of the crash was spatial disorientation on the part of the pilot.

* September 19 2003: Flight 982, a Bombardier Learjet 25 flying El Paso-Del Rio overran the runway end while landing, crossing Johnson Street and crashing into the Masonic cemetery. Of the 2 pilots on board, 1 died and the other sustained serious injuries. The cause of the crash was the pilot's misjudging distance and speed prior to touchdown.

* January 9, 2007: Flight 878, a Bombardier Learjet 24 was flying Laredo-Guadalajara when it crashed while on approach about 18.8 miles E of Guadalajara. Both pilots on board were killed. The crash is still being investigated.
