binomial = "Pannaulika triassica""Pannaulika triassca" is a prehistoric
plant species assigned to a small, incompleteleaf and two "flower s".It was found in
Carnian rock. The incomplete, dicot -like leaf fragment, measuring 32 mm in length, has a vein structure which suggests the plant to be anangiosperm , but it also shares some characteristics withfern s. Possibly, this means that primitive angiosperms from theJurassic period evolved intropic highlands. Plants in this type of environment rarelyfossil ize, but theirseed s can be carried beyond the species' natural range of distribution. Thistheory suggests that angiosperms only managed to spread insubtropic lowlands, where they have been found inEarly Cretaceous rock.References
