Gary Van Horn

Gary R. Van Horn was the vice-presidential candidate of The American Party in the 1996 Presidential election, as the running mate of Diane Beall Templin; they received 1,847 votes.

Van Horn has been a perennial candidate of various right wing parties. In 1994 he ran against Orrin Hatch for United States Senator, coming in a distant fourth with 2,543 votes. In 1998 he ran against Robert F. Bennett again for Senate as the candidate of the Independent American Party, coming in a distant third with 15,011 votes (3%). In 2000, he ran against Earl Dodge for the presidential nomination of the Prohibition Party, but lost by one vote.
