- W. M. Spackman
William Mode Spackman (1905-1990) was an American
writer . He is noted for having achieved literary success relatively late in life, and for writing about romance from a realistic rather than a romantic perspective. William Mode Spackman was a member of thePrinceton University class of 1927 where he received both his bachelor's and master's degrees. The characters of his novels are his fellow classmen, their high society at the time inNew York City , and the women they kept time with. He studied atBalliol College, Oxford and received aRockefeller Fellowship to study public opinion atColumbia University .He is the author of the novels:
