Marz is well known for his work on "
Silver Surfer " and "Green Lantern ," as well as the "Marvel vs DC " crossover and "Batman/Aliens ". He also worked on theCrossGen Comics series "Scion", "Mystic", "Sojourn", and "The Path". AtDark Horse Comics he created "" and various "Star Wars " comics. He has also done work for Devil's Due Publishing's Aftermath line, namely "Blade of Kumori ". In 1995, he had a brief run onXO-Manowar , forValiant Comics .While being chiefly responsible for bringing popularity back to Green Lantern and introducing a new generation (and boost in sales) to the series, Marz received criticism from factions of the
fandom for his part in turning the character ofHal Jordan into amass murderer in order to make way for a newGreen Lantern character,Kyle Rayner . He has also been criticized for the perceivedmisogynistic tone of his writing, in particular a story he wrote for "Green Lantern" which inspired the name of theWomen in Refrigerators website. Marz reported receiving numerous hate letters and death threats. ForDC Comics , he has written "Ion", a 12 part comic book miniseries that followed the Kyle Rayner character after the "One Year Later " event, and "Tales of the Sinistro Corps Presents: Parallax" and "Tales of the Sinestro Corps Presents: Ion", two one-shot tie-ins to theGreen Lantern crossover, "The Sinestro Corps War".Having been a lifelong fan of the character, Ron was the brain behind
