Grace Elizabeth Loh is
Australia 's first World Junior Swimming Champion.Born in 1991 in
Kew, Victoria , Grace recently won the women's 100m Backstroke Event at the 2nd FINA World Youth Swimming Championship inMonterrey ,Mexico .On the 5th day of the competition, Grace posted a "superb" 28.83 secs to take out the 50m
Backstroke sprint event. The time recorded is a new Championship record.On the 6th and last day of the meet, Grace lead off the Australia 4 x 100m Medley relay team with a fast 1.01.57 secs, a personal best, to finish with a Silver medal.
The competition ran from the 8th to 13th of July 2008 and has attracted over 600 swimmers from over 66 countries with strong contingents from major swimming nations including USA, Great Britain, Russia and Japan.
Grace trains with swimming club, CA Tritons Inc under Coach Carl Wilson and Rohan Taylor and is studying Year 11 at Haileybury Girls College in Keysborough, Victoria.
