International Studies Learning Center, or ISLC for short, is a span school ranging from grades 6 through 12. ISLC is a small learning community, with less than 500 students enrolled in the high school partition, with less than 35 teachers in both high and middle school partitions.
ISLC is located in South Gate, California. ISLC does not have their own campus, but shares campus facilities with their neighbour, South East High School and Southeast Middle School.
ISLC is part of Los Angeles Unified School District.
ISLC is currently partnered with the Asia Society, Foundation for California Community Colleges, Los Angeles Southwest College, and Los Angeles Trade-Technical College. [http://forfar.net/ISLC/goals.htm#partners]

History

ISLC was completed in October of 2006 on a convert|57.45|acre|m2|sing=on plot of land on the site of the old General Motors plant in South Gate, California. It is on one of the largest lots of any school in the LAUSD, and is bordered by the new Southeast Middle School to its west, and a building that houses ISLC's students and faculty.
