"Archaeobelodon" is an extinct genus of African and European proboscidean. "Archaeobelodon" was an ancestor of "Platybelodon" and "Amebelodon". "Archaeobelodon" had a trunk and tusks. The gomphothere lived during the early and middle Miocene epoch. [Citation
