StreetCred is a social networking website focusing on the hip-hop culture. The site is made up of those who identify with the hip-hop culture, including artists, producers and fans. There are tools and features to allow them to interact, and view user-generated content as well as content provided by major music record labels. History

StreetCred.com was founded in 2007 by Rocky Williform, an ex-hostile takeover investment banker and co-founder of Atlanta food and beverage company BodyBlocks Nutrition Systems Inc . All of these artist have uploaded video drops onto StreetCred.com. Membership is free and the site is open to the public (13 and up).

Exclusive content and video premiers released on the network has included several videos and news releases from rapper T.I., and a video by B.G._(rapper). While on house arrest for gun charges, on November 12, 2007, T.I. posted a video from his home in Atlanta, GA. MTV also posted an article entitled “T.I. Profile Features

Every StreetCred member gets their own page -- MyBlock – that can be customized in their own unique style -- Pimp MyBlock -- and then placed on a virtual street -- MyStreet -- or add a new street to the community. Members can upload their favorite videos, photos and music that can be watched on their all-in-one- personal media player -- StreetPlayer -- or choose from thousands of major music videos, music tracks, photos and user generated videos in the StreetCred digital media library. Members can invite their friends, -- MySquad -- to visit their block or meet up where teens hangout in the-- Loft -- or where adults network in the-- Lounge -- and chat with real-time audio and video. Members can join clubs, create and contribute to blogs, participate in forums and attend events. Members can publicly express feelings and thoughts by giving a Shout Out! on each others brick -- MyBrick. Members can challenge each other's content to a one-on-one contest -- Street Battle -- via the Challenge option. In addition, each member gets a -- StreetMeter -- displaying their creditability -- Cred --, which can be gained through a combination of activity, contribution and participation within the StreetCred network. Points can be wagered on challenged contests and redeemed from time to time on special promotional items.

"Mystreet"

Members of MySquad can also choose the same Street name. There can be many Blocks on MySTREET. Members have the ability to create a new Street name or select from an existing one.

"Streetunes"

Streetunes is an active database of featured audio content. Random titles can be selected from the Home page for comments and rating.

"Streetvids"

STREET VIDS is an active database of featured video content. Newly uploaded titles can be selected from the Home page for comments and rating.

"Street Shots"

Street Shots is an active database of featured photos. Newly uploaded photos can be selected from the Home page for comments and rating.

"Streetplayer"

The streetplayer is a medium for all audo and video content.

"Streetalk"

Streetalk database of featured blogger content. Newly added titles can be selected from the Home page for commenting and discussion. Members can select "Blogs" or "Create Blog" to post blogs of the latest information.

"StreetMeter"

The StreetMeter gauges a member’s “Cred” based on popularity, activity and contribution to the StreetCred community.

Mobile Shortcode

Streetcred Media Group plans to offer ringtones and other mobile services to mobile phone customers. The company owns the mobile shortccodes "HipHop" (447467)and "Street”
