It is located to the south-east of the city centre. The Waiwhakaiho River runs past Merrilands to the east, and Te Henui Stream runs past to the west.[1]
The population was 2,787 in the 2006 Census, an increase of 60 from 2001.[2]
Education
Merrilands School is a coeducational contributing primary (years 1-6) school with a decile rating of 6 and a roll of 184.[3] The school was established in 1960.[4]
