website_name = Stoke Damerel CollegeStoke Damerel Community College is a maths and computing college on "Somerset Place" in Stoke,
Plymouth ,England near the A386.History
It was formerly known as Stoke Damerel High School for Girls, a grammar school. This started out as the Stoke Damerel Secondary School for Girls in August 1926 when mergeing with the Keppel Place Central School. It became a High School in 1935. Admissions
The school is on a hill with panoramic views of Plymouth and admits pupils from 11-18. The 300-strong sixth form is run in conjunction with the John Kitto and Tamarside schools offering A levels, AS levels, and
BTEC qualifications. The school has around 750 computers.Academic performance
The school gets GCSE results in the bottom half of Plymouth schools and well under the England average. However there are nearby grammar schools such as the
Devonport High School for Boys which will reduce the average marks of the school. More than a third of Plymouth's schools get results under the minimum expected. At A level the results are even lower, getting the third worst in Plymouth in 2007.Alumni
