Keith Law Just For Laughs

Keith Law Just For Laughs

Since 2003 Keith Law has been a prominent face on the BBC1/Paramount Comedy hidden camera show Just for Laughs produced by Wild Rover Productions.

Usually dressed as a be–spectacled policeman or traffic warden, he is still often seen on the shows which are still being repeated around the world in approximately 125 countries and around 100 airlines as well (it is popular with the airlines because there is no language heard on the show).

Keith met his wife Sonia Butterworth on the Just for Laughs show where they were co-actors. Sonia is now a regular newsreader on the local GMTV news in Northern Ireland, produced by Macmillan Media for the UTV network. Keith is also a commercial producer at Belfast Radio station Belfast Citybeat and was notable for creating the hugely acclaimed viral JONJOE SAT NAV sketch which netted the radio station a PANI advertising award in 2007( [www.jonjoe.net] )

Although involved in comedy, he is also a musician and composer( [www.myspace.com/keithlawmusic] ) and, after leaving Irish band Devlin Law in 1995( [www.myspace.com/devlinlaw] ), [the band released 2 singles “River Of Love” and “Count on Me”] was the bass player on the Belfast based band, The Supreme Pontiffs, fronted by local composer Cormac O Kane.

The band first came to prominence in 1995 on the PK Tonight show, fronted by Patrick Kielty, where they were known for their slapstick approach and trademark costumes. The Supreme Pontiffs were also the Band for 3 series of The Lyrics Board on the Irish National Broadcaster RTE, fronted by Linda Martin.

(Trivia) Currently, Keith’s voice can be heard just before every hour on Belfast Citybeat announcing ”it’s almost 3 o clock, time to Fonacab”
