During the
Second World War , the Geheime Feldpolizei was Germany's secret military police, operating as the executive organ of theAbwehr against resistance in Germany and France.Its French headquarters were at the hôtel Bradford, 10
rue Saint Philippe du Roule in Paris (8ème arrondissement), with a specialist section for the départements of Nord andPas de Calais based at rue de la Traversière inBrussels .Organisation
Until May
1942 it was made up of several fifty-man groups, when it was reorganised by the supreme head of the SS and police,Karl Oberg . This reorganisation created group 6/10, made up of the "Kommando für Kapitalverbrechen" (capital crimes) (crime suprême), which carried out theStand de tir de Balard .The
Brigades Spéciales of the prefecture (Renseignements généraux) (French) were subsumed into the German GFPInterventions in police matters such as investigations, manhuints, surveillance, interviews and, most certainly, torture were made by BS2 (
