"The Essential Byrds" is a comprehensive two-CD compilation album released by American band The Byrds in 2003 as part of Sony BMG's "Essential" series. Their previous three official "hits" packages were 1967's "The Byrds' Greatest Hits", 1972's "" and 1998's "Super Hits". "The Essential Byrds" never charted in the U.S. or the UK.
