- Marie-Victoire Baudry
-
Marie-Victoire Baudry (12 December 1782 – 10 November 1846), named de la Croix, was Superior general of the Notre Dame Congregation.
Baudry went to convent school in Pointe-aux-Trembles (Montreal) and became a novice of the Congregation of Notre Dame at Montreal in 1799 . She took her vows as Sister de la Croix and began a teaching career shortly after at a mission on Montreal Island. She later moved to Lower Town mission at Quebec.
Because of circumstances within her community she left teaching and became involved in the internal administration of various missions. She became superior in 1822 for a six year term and was succeeded by Marie-Catherine Huot. She was elected councillor at that time and continued in that post until her death.
Sister de la Croix set up new missions and strongly influenced the curriculum in their schools.
