kibbutz in central Israel. Located in the coastal plain to the south-east ofNetanya , it falls under the jurisdiction ofHof HaSharon Regional Council . In 2006 it had a population of 851.The kibbutz was established in 1938 by immigrants from Galicia as part of the
tower and stockade settlement programme. It was named after Yitzhak Steiger, a leader ofHanoar Hatzioni in Galicia.
