Coors Visitor Centre

Coors Visitor Centre (formerly the Bass Museum) which also incorporated the museum of brewing styled as "the UK's premier museum dedicated to brewing" [http://www.coorsvisitorcentre.com/vc_home.asp?section_id=0 Coors Visitor Centre ] ] by owner Coors Brewers Limited was one of the main tourist attractions in Burton upon Trent. The visitor centre housed a bar and cafe, a history of both the town of Burton upon Trent and its brewing industry, historic vehicles, a micro brewery and a shire horse collection.

Closure

On Tuesday 18th March 2008 Coors announced that it was to close the Visitor Centre which the company was subsidising to the tune of £1 million a year.
