Victor Haghani was one of the founding partners of Long Term Capital Management, a hedge fund which collapsed in 1998, to be eventually bailed out by a consortium of leading banks [http://fmg.lse.ac.uk/news/newspage.php?newsid=86 Profile] ]

Early life

Haghani is an Iranian American whose father was an international trader from a Sephardic Jewish family in Iran. Haghani was trained in finance from the London School of Economics [ [http://www.sjsu.edu/faculty/watkins/ltcm.htm Origins] ]

Career

Victor Haghani graduated from the LSE in 1984. He worked for Salomon Brothers in New York, first in fixed income research and then in proprietary trading. He was a founding partner of LTCM and moved to London in 1993 to open their London office. Post 1998, Victor stayed on for the liquidation of LTCM and then became a founding partner of JWM Partners which manages a successor fund to LTCM. Victor has been on Sabbatical for the past two years.
