Hauãuru mã raki is a wind farm being developed on the Waikato coast of New Zealand. [cite web | title = Thumbs-up to huge wind farm

It would extend 34km along the coast between Port Waikato and Raglan. [cite web | title = Hauãuru mã raki waikato wind farm project description

] The project covers an area of convert|16797|ha|km2 and has a capacity of up to 540 MW. The wind farm would be owned and operated by Contact Wind Ltd.

Contact Energy applied for resource consents in June 2008. The first electricity from the wind farm is planned for 2013 with the project due for completion by 2016. The project would provide power for up to 180,000 households.

In September 2008, the Energy Minister "called in" the project, meaning that instead of going though the standard resource consent process, the decision will be made by an independent board of enquiry. The move is possible if a project is considered to be of "national significance"," [http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10529258 Mallard calls in Raglan wind farm decision] " - "The New Zealand Herald", Wednesday 27 August 2008] and is generally (but rarely) used when the decision on an important project might otherwise be held up for a long time due to the standard process.
