Roger Townshend (1544-1590)

Roger Townshend (1544-1590)

Sir Roger Townshend, of Raynham (c. 1544-1590-06-30), was an English servant of Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk and Philip Howard, 20th Earl of Arundel.

In February 1565, he was declared of age to inherit the holdings of his great-grandfather (Sir Roger Townshend). However, he chose to instead serve the Duke of Norfolk as his man of business rather than become a gentleman.

He died in Stoke Newington on 1590-06-30 and is buried at St Giles Cripplegate.
