James Morrow Walsh was a North-West Mounted Police post established in 1875 in the Cypress Hills. The fort was later abandoned in 1882 to be moved toMaple Creek, Saskatchewan because of the railway being located there. The fort was later reconstructed in the 1950s to breed horses for theRoyal Canadian Mounted Police and the musical ride. Today tourists can tour the forts buildings, the former townsite, cemeteries and the whiskey trading post. [Citation
