star=HAT-P-9
planet=bHAT-P-9b is an
extrasolar planet approximately 1560light year s away in theconstellation Auriga. This planet was found by thetransit method on June 26, 2008. It hasmass 78% that ofJupiter andradius 140% that of Jupiter. As for all the transiting planets excludingHD 17156 b , this planet is so-calledhot Jupiter , meaning this Jupiter-like planet orbits extremely close to the parent star, taking only 3.92 days to orbit at the average distance of 7.9 gigameters.References
