Châtin ,France .Life
Annick Gendron has been painting and exhibiting since 1968. Her work has been shown at the
Raymond Duncan Gallery, at the Bernheim-Jeune Gallery, at theSalon des Indépendants and Surindependant at theMusée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris , at theSalon des Artistes Français at theGrand Palais and theSalon d'Automne in Paris.After winning the
ORTF prize in 1971 and the Art Society Medal for Science and Literature, Gendron opened the Annick Gendron Gallery in the5th arrondissement of Paris in 1973. During a period of 10 years, Gendron exhibited with artists and friends such as Eugène de Kermadec, Chu-Teh-Chun, Albert Feraud, Ladislas Kijno.In the 1970s Gendron’s innovative way of using and manipulating industrial material and tools (plastic, glass, newspapers and centrifuges) guaranteed her a place in the French
Lyrical Abstraction movement. Gendron’s painting and thought process has always revolved around using often surprising materialsplexiglas ,fossils ,toy soldier ). Uncommon themes such as the limits to scientific knowledge and thePan-European identity are central to her work.Notes and references
