This is the current FIDE Federations Rankings for men [http://ratings.fide.com/topfed.phtml?tops=0&ina=1&country=] and for women [http://ratings.fide.com/topfed.phtml?tops=1&ina=1&country=] active chess players (information is accessed in July 2008). These rankings are also known as World Chess Rankings. The position of the country's federation in the list is defined by the average score of 10 strongest players in this federation. The scores of players are calculated using Elo rating system.
