Stand can mean several things:

Objects

*A stand, when referring to an object, is an object that has a massive head another object, usually for display purposes (at events or places such as a conference, a congress, a shop, etc.). See column, armature (sculpture), animation stand, clothes valet.
* A stand, when referring to disability or medical equipment, is an assistive technology that supports a person who cannot stand on their own in the standing position. See standing frame.
*A stand, when referring to a business establishment, is a small open-air retail shop, such as a "fruit stand" or "hot dog stand", similar to a kiosk.
*A stand (of drill pipe) includes 2 or 3 joints of drill pipe connected together and "stood" in the derrick on a drilling rig.
*A stand of vegetation is a patch or expanse of a particular vegetation type
*Another name for a partnership in the sport of cricket
