Youssouf Kanté (born August 13, 1984 in Paris, France) is a French football (soccer) midfielder who plays for the Seattle Sounders of the USL First Division.

Youssouf began playing soccer in the Paris St. Germain youth system. When he turned nineteen, he signed with ADO Den Haag of the Netherlands’ Second Division. He then took an unspecified break from playing. He returned to soccer in 2006 when he signed with Swiss club FC Windisch. He then moved to Romania and was offered a mid season contract by SC Astra Ploiesti. Upon completion of the season, Kanté was offered a trial by FCM Câmpina, however, chose to come to Seattle instead.

After unsuccessful trials with Major League Soccer teams Kansas City Wizards and Toronto FC, in early 2008, he went on trial with the Sounders. On April 24, 2008, he signed with the Sounders.
