Gouin Boulevard is the longest street on the
Island of Montreal , stretching 50 kilometres across the north of the island from Pierrefonds in the west toPointe-aux-Trembles in the east atSherbrooke Street (Quebec Route 138 ). Through most of its length it parallels theRiviere des Prairies that separatesMontreal from Laval (Île Jésus ). The road crosses the boroughs and municipalities of Pierrefonds, Sainte-Geneviève, Roxboro, Saraguay,Cartierville ,Ahuntsic , Montréal-Nord, Saint-Joseph-de-la-Riviere-des-Prairies,Montréal-Est and Pointe-aux-Trembles. It is named afterLomer Gouin ,Premier of Quebec from 1905 to 1920.
