Rasoolpur

Rasoolpur (رسولپور) is a model village of Rajanpur District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is located in south Punjab in the Siraiki belt and is part of Jampur Tehsil. It is situated 35 miles north from Rajan Pur on the Dera Ghazi Khan to Karachi road. Its population is near to two thousand. All people are educatedFact|date=August 2008 and 90% are government servant with women. There are two High Schools ‘girls and boys. Several people are on their jobs in U.S.A’Kanada /Saudi Arabia. Dubai etc. They are very qualified in their education. There is working a welfare organization named Ahmedani Welfare Organization and also there is a literary organization named Rasoolpur Siraiki Sangat which is working for research on Siraiki language. It has published several books which were awarded by the government with Award of Khawaja Ghulam Farid. This village is famous for annual Siraiki programs like Mushaera and Music programmes. This is also well known about Works on Siraiki language and literature.

Historical Background

In this village Ahmedani Baloch are living. They were inhabitant of Haro and Adam Garh near to Sindh River .Due to flood they migrated to another place near to Kotla Mughlan named Farid Abad. But after Ghulam Rasool khan Korai (a retired judge and famous Baloch leader and historian 0ffered some for a new village. All people migrated to this village on 1934. The name of this village was on the name of Ghulam Rasool khan ‘Kotla Ghulam Rasool Khan but due to long name it was renamed Rasoolpur.

This village is also famous for gardens. There are several gardens of Mangos and dates. Dates of these gardens are very sweet and called HALAVI
