Mher Avanesyan

Mher Avanesyan

Mher Avanesyan is an Armenian double arm amputee alpine skiier and competitive sailor.

At the age of seven, Avanesyan touched a high-voltage wire at a power station, and lost both arms. He competed in sailing at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Paralympics, and in alpine skiing at the 1998, 2002, and 2006 Winter Paralympics, thus becoming one of the few athletes to have competed in both Summer and Winter events.[1][2][3] He will be competing again at the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver.[4]
