U.S. Route 6 in Indiana

U.S. Route 6 in Indiana is a mostly rural, two-lane route that travels in Northern Indiana. However, some four-lane stretches may be found in Lake and Porter counties. For most of its length it travels over The Grand Army of the Republic Highway. U.S. Route 6 is positioned where State Road 6 would fit into Indiana's state road numbering system.

Route Description

U.S. Route 6 enters Indiana along with Interstates 80 and 94 on the Borman Expressway. U.S Route 6 splits off from Interstate 80 and 94 just before in reaches Interstate 90 in Lake Station, Indiana. It passes through Hobart, Portage, Westville, Walkerton, Nappanee, and Kendallville before reaching Interstate 69 in Northeastern Indiana. U.S. Route 6 passes through Waterloo and Butler before reaching the Indiana/Ohio State Line.
