Snoqualmie School District

The Snoqualmie Valley School District is located in King County, Washington. Located about 40 miles out of Seattle it is at the foothills of Snoqualmie Pass. It covers over 400 square miles which makes it one of the geographically largest school districts in Washington State. Inside of the school district there are nine schools: five elementary schools, three middle schools, one high school and an alternative school. There are over 5,700 students, and there has been a 25% increase in the student population in the past decade. [http://www.svsd410.org/districtinfo/about/index.asp]

History

Before 1945 there were three schools districts of which now make up Snoqualmie Valley School District. They were the North Bend District, Snoqualmie District, and the Fall City District. Schools

Cascade View Elementary School opened in fall of 2005. It is located on Snoqualmie Ridge. It serves grades k-5. [http://www.svsd410.org/schools/cascadeview_es/history.asp]

Fall City Elementary School was originally opened in 1909. However, the school was rebuilt and the only original building that was left standing is the gymnasium, which is still stands today. In 1968 and 1982, additional wings were added to the building. The school underwent another remodel in 1999. It serves grades k-5. [http://www.svsd410.org/schools/fallcity_es/history.asp]

North Bend Elementary School was built in 1962. In 1967 and 1968 38,000 square feet was added to the building and it was remodeled again in 1999. It serves k-5. [http://www.svsd410.org/schools/northbend_es/history.asp]

Opstad Elementary School is located in North Bend. It was built in 1988 and underwent construction again in 1989 and 1999. It serves grades k-5. [http://www.svsd410.org/schools/opstad_es/history.asp]

Twin Falls Middle School opened in fall of 2008. It is a new facility located a few miles east of North Bend. It serves grades 6-8.

Mount Si High School was constructed between the years of 1952-1953. It was remodeled in 1955, 1968, 1977 and 1991. In 2005 an additional sports complex was added as well as an all-weather field. It serves grades 9-12. [http://www.svsd410.org/schools/mtsi/history.asp]
