Life
Katie was born in
Seattle ,Washington . Katie lived here for the first 18 years of her life, going to High School inBothell , a suburb of Seattle. She was involved in the arts with flute lessons, choir, and piano. Katie also studied American Sign Language(ASL), and Deaf Culture. Learning about ASL and watching interpretation andASL poetry remains one of Katie's favorite passtimes.During her time in High School, Katie began to take an interest in English as a subject, and photography. Here she would write her first poems (and have them published), and also begin to get involved with photography.
After graduating from High School, Katie moved to Laramie,
Wyoming to go to college at theUniversity of Wyoming . Here Katie is studying to become a nurse, and still takes the time to write and take photographs occasionally. She has also taken a recent interest in writing short stories and has a book project underway, but has thus far declined to provide any further information regarding the story.Although a majority of Katie's writing and photography is for herself and close friends, she has had a poem published. The Poem "The Simplicity" was published in a book titled The prism : a teen poetry collection 2003. She also hopes to have her upcoming short story submitted for publication after it is completed.
