- Krystyna Ceynowa
Krystyna Ceynowa or Cejnowa, (d. 1836), was an alleged Polish witch. She was subjected to the ordeal of water and drowned in
Chałupy accused of sorcery. She was likely among the last people in Europe to be subjected to lynchning on the grounds of sorcery and witchcraft.Krystyna Ceynowa was the widow of a fisherman. It was said that she never went to mass, and that black crows were attracted to her chimney. Her suppressors were called from Sopot and she was subjected to the ordeal of water during an illegal trial, during which she drowned, or was drowned by them, in Chałupy on the
Hel Peninsula (Polish: "Mierzeja Helska"), Poland, at the time a Prussian province.See also
