Stamps of Malta are the stamps issued by the Republic of Malta. MaltaPost p.l.c. is the entity that issues these stamps. In 1881, Malta issued its first stamp, back then this country was still a colony of the United Kingdom. Ever since, Malta issued several stamps and also takes part in various programmes including Europa, WWF, SEPAC, etc. [ [http://www.maltapost.com Maltapost plc ] ]

The stamps of Malta commemorate all the important events that happened in Malta since its independence. Indeed, the first ever commemorative set of stamps issued by this republic commemorates the independence day of this island from the United Kingdom. Later on stamps to commemorate Malta’s entry into the European Union, the introduction of the decimal coins and even after the euro were also issued.
