Hej Sokoły (song)

A Polish song Hej Sokoły, meaning "hey falcons", is a traditional theme about green Ukraine and about a Ukrainian girl, to whom her Polish boyfriend says goodbye for the last time. Origin unknown. Sung during Polish-Soviet War by soldiers, also by the Home Army guerillas during the WWII. After the war, the song has been adopted by Polish Boys Scouts, also known as Związek Harcerstwa Polskiego, and today, it became one of the better known hits from the repertoire of a Polish Gorals' folk music band from Zakopane - Biesiada [http://www.justsomelyrics.com/587849/biesiada-Hej-soko%C5%82y- Hej Sokoły] - "Biesiada Góralska" lyrics (Polish)] , also sung by a Polish folk singer - Maryla Rodowicz [http://youtube.com/watch?v=k4RrjbPhQxY&feature=related Hej Sokoły] - "Maryla Rodowicz" music] .
